Understanding Your Divine Calling: A Message of Purpose

What if your life was created with intentionality, purpose, and divine design? At The Chapel, we believe that’s not just a possibility—it’s God’s promise.

In a recent message, Pastor Jeremy Eastman shared a bold and encouraging reminder: every believer has a divine calling. It's not just for pastors, missionaries, or ministry leaders. It’s for you. Wherever you are, whatever season you’re in, God has a purpose uniquely tailored for your life.

You Were Made on Purpose, for a Purpose

In Jeremiah 1:5, the Lord tells the prophet,

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…”

This isn’t just a statement about Jeremiah—it’s a powerful truth for all of us.

You’re not an afterthought. You are not the sum of your past, your failures, or what people have said about you. Your existence is evidence of divine intention.

At The Chapel, we see people every week discovering that they are more than just survivors of life’s chaos—they are called, chosen, and commissioned by a God who knows them by name.

Recognizing the Call: It’s Personal

Pastor Jeremy unpacked Isaiah 43:1,

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine.”

God’s call isn’t distant or generic—it’s personal. He’s not looking for perfect people. He’s looking for available hearts.

Maybe you’ve wondered, “What could God possibly want to do with me? ”Here’s the answer: everything.

He wants to take your unique gifts—your creativity, leadership, compassion, teaching, athleticism, or love for service—and infuse them with His power and purpose.

How Do You Respond? With Faithfulness and Fire

The key to walking in your calling isn’t having all the answers—it’s having a willing heart.

Paul writes in Ephesians 4:1,

“Live a life worthy of the calling you have received.”

That starts with faithfulness—showing up in your daily life with humility, love, and consistency. It continues through prayer, community, serving, and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.

Pastor Jeremy reminded us that just like Paul in Acts 16, sometimes God redirects us. And when He does—it’s always for something greater.

Let the Holy Spirit Lead

God doesn’t expect you to fulfill your calling in your own strength.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you…” —Acts 1:8

You weren’t called to survive—you were called to witness, to build, and to ignite the kingdom of God wherever you are.

That starts with receiving the power of the Holy Spirit and allowing Him to guide, convict, comfort, and empower you.

What Is God Calling You To?

Maybe it’s to start a business with purpose.

Maybe it’s to raise your children with intentional faith.

Maybe it’s to lead in your workplace, serve your city, or disciple others.

Whatever it is, the invitation is open. All God needs is your yes.

“Here I am, Lord. Send me.” —Isaiah 6:8

A Final Word from Pastor Jeremy

“God initiates the call—but it’s up to us to answer. Don’t spend another year sitting on the sidelines. Your calling won’t come by accident—it comes through obedience.”

At The Chapel, we’re committed to helping you discover, develop, and walk confidently in your divine calling.

Whether you're brand new to faith or ready to lead others, there’s a place for you here.
