Understanding “Kingdom Come” — A Call to Rise and Reign

There’s something deeply stirring when we pray, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Those words have been spoken countless times — in quiet devotion, in Sunday gatherings, in moments of desperation. But what if those words are more than a prayer? What if they are a call to action — a reminder that the kingdom we long for is already here, alive within us, waiting to be lived out?

This week at The Chapel, Pastor Jeremy Eastman shared a message that awakened something in our hearts — a vision of the kingdom not as a distant hope, but as a present reality. His message, “Kingdom Come,” reminded us that the kingdom of God isn’t waiting for us in some far-off future. It has been deposited within us, breathing through every believer, ready to move through our faith and obedience.

The Kingdom Is Within You

Jesus said in Luke 17:21, “The kingdom of God is within you.” That means heaven is not waiting to descend — it’s waiting to be released. Pastor Jeremy reminded us that we often pray for God to move, but perhaps God is waiting for us to move — to speak His truth, to show His love, to carry His authority into the places that need it most.

When we understand that the Spirit of God dwells within us, everything changes. We stop living like we’re waiting for permission and start walking like ambassadors of heaven. The kingdom doesn’t come through observation — it comes through participation. It’s birthed every time we love when it’s hard, forgive when it’s painful, and speak life into dark places.

The Church: Heaven’s Governing Body

Pastor Jeremy shared a powerful reminder that the word “church” in Matthew 16:18 is translated from the Greek word eklesia — a governing assembly, a body chosen to influence and direct. That means the church isn’t just a building where we gather; it’s a movement of people called to govern with spiritual authority under Christ.

We are not here to simply observe culture — we are here to transform it. The church carries the keys of the kingdom, the authority to bind and loose, to stand against darkness, and to release heaven’s will on earth. When we operate in unity, walking in the authority Jesus gave us, we don’t just pray for change — we become the change.

A Kingdom of Partnership

The eklesia isn’t the kingdom itself; it’s the vessel through which the kingdom moves. God has chosen to partner with His people — to reign through those who are surrendered to His Spirit. That means you and I are part of something so much bigger than ourselves. Every act of faith, every prayer of agreement, every moment of obedience brings heaven a little closer to earth.

We are not powerless spectators. We are sons and daughters of the King, entrusted with His mission and equipped with His Spirit. The same authority that raised Jesus from the dead is alive in us today.

Unity That Releases Power

One of the most moving parts of Pastor Jeremy’s message was his call to unity. The enemy fears a united church — a body of believers who know who they are and Whose they are. When the church stands as one, heaven’s culture begins to manifest. Division loses its grip, and darkness loses its ground.

Unity isn’t uniformity; it’s a shared purpose. It’s keeping Jesus at the center while moving forward together, advancing His kingdom in every sphere of life — our families, schools, workplaces, and communities.

Living the Kingdom Now

The kingdom of God isn’t coming someday — it’s already begun. It’s here every time we love radically, serve humbly, and believe boldly. It’s revealed through us when we live with heaven’s perspective, bringing peace where there’s chaos, hope where there’s despair, and faith where there’s fear.

The call is simple yet profound: Live like heaven is already here. Because it is — within you, within the Church, within every believer who chooses to walk in their divine authority.

A Call to Rise

At The Chapel, we believe this is our time to rise — to take our place as the eklesia, the governing body of heaven on earth. Let’s not wait for someone else to bring change. Let’s be the ones who carry heaven into every corner of our world.

The kingdom of God is not delayed. It’s deposited. It’s within you. It’s within us. And it’s time for us to release it — with courage, with unity, and with faith that moves mountains.

So today, let’s declare: “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth — and in me — as it is in heaven.”
