A Sunday Message from Guest Pastor Kyle McClanahan
This past Sunday at The Chapel, guest speaker Pastor Kyle McClanahan delivered a compelling and timely message that stirred hearts and awakened purpose. With grace and clarity, Pastor Kyle invited us into a journey—a call to discovery—challenging each of us to step beyond comfort and step fully into the adventure of walking with God.
God Is Calling: Are You Listening?
Pastor Kyle opened with the familiar passage in Genesis 3:9, where God asks Adam and Eve, “Where are you?” He reminded us that this question isn’t about geography—it’s about intimacy. God wasn’t seeking information. He was seeking relationship.
Even in their failure, God still pursued them. And He still pursues us today.
“God is calling you—not to shame you—but to walk with you again.”
That moment in the Garden echoes through time, right into our own lives. When was the last time we really answered?
From Comfort to Calling: Reigniting Wonder
Many believers today have traded passion for passivity—settling into a “safe” faith that avoids challenge and risk. But Pastor Kyle urged us to reclaim the wonder of our walk with Christ.
He reminded us that our faith journey isn’t meant to be comfortable. It’s meant to be transformational. That transformation starts when we rediscover the delight of being in God’s presence—when we choose intimacy over indifference.
“If your walk with God has started to feel routine, it’s time to rediscover the wonder.”
Community: Your Calling Has a Context
One of the most powerful points in Pastor Kyle’s message was this: The church doesn’t function on the gifts of a few—it thrives on the faith of many.
Everyone has a part to play. Everyone is needed.
Pastor Kyle challenged us not to spectate but to serve. Not to drift—but to build.
Like Nehemiah rebuilding the broken walls of Jerusalem (Nehemiah 2:17-18), we are called to rise up and take action in our community—despite opposition, despite fear.
“God didn’t bring you to this church to sit still. He brought you here to rise and build.”
The Slow Fade: Recognizing the Drift
Sometimes, it’s not a big fall—it’s a slow fade. Life happens. Disappointment creeps in. And before we know it, our passion has been replaced with passivity.
Pastor Kyle identified this drift with vulnerability and honesty. He reminded us that God doesn’t abandon us in our drift—He calls us back. Every time.
And the way back? It starts with three simple, powerful actions:
🔹 Prayer – (1 Thessalonians 5:17) A constant, ongoing connection with God.
🔹 Community – (Proverbs 27:17) Surround yourself with faith-filled friends who sharpen your walk.
🔹 Scripture – (2 Corinthians 5:17, Colossians 2:13–15) Root your identity in what God says about you, not what the world says.
Reclaiming Identity in Christ
Our identity isn’t defined by past mistakes, present fears, or future uncertainties. It’s anchored in Christ.
Pastor Kyle shared verses like Philippians 4:6, Romans 12:2, and Ephesians 1:3-8, reminding us that we are chosen, loved, adopted, and empowered. We are not who the enemy says we are—we are who God says we are.
A Personal Invitation to Purpose
As he closed, Pastor Kyle extended a heartfelt invitation: Come back. Come closer. Come discover what God made you for.
This was more than a call to rededicate your life—it was a call to reignite your purpose.
“You were made on purpose. For purpose. With purpose. Don’t waste another moment outside of it.”
🔥 Final Reflection
At The Chapel, we believe church isn’t about checking a box—it’s about becoming who God called you to be.
This week, take a moment and ask yourself:
Where am I in my walk with God?
What areas of my life have I stopped trusting Him in?
Am I hiding—or walking boldly in purpose?
God is still asking, “Where are you?” And He’s still waiting with open arms.
