This past weekend, The Chapel’s Bloom Women’s Ministry hosted the Rooted Women’s Weekend—a powerful time of worship, connection, and encouragement designed to help women grow deeper roots in Christ. Saturday’s sessions were filled with truth, testimony, and the unmistakable presence of the Holy Spirit.
Real Women. Real Stories. Rooted in Christ.
The morning opened with a dynamic panel of women who shared honestly about what it looks like to stay grounded in faith through life’s everyday challenges. Hosted in a welcoming, conversational format, the panel included:
Michelle Eastman (Spencer, WV): A lifelong Chapel member who shared with humor and humility about trusting God through life transitions.
Amy Garrison (Ravenswood, WV): Known for her joy and genuine heart, she spoke on cultivating worship in the everyday moments—especially on her commute.
Tara Arias (Columbus, OH): With transparency, she reflected on navigating motherhood, stress, and God’s direction in unexpected seasons.
Laura Pino (New Jersey): A homeschooling mom of four, she reminded us how vital it is to stay connected to God in the chaos of family life.
Abby Eastman (WV Tech Student): Representing the next generation, she shared about learning to walk in personal faith while away at college.
Together, these women offered raw and relatable insight into:
Finding quiet time with God in busy seasons
Overcoming trials by anchoring deeply in His Word
The role of spiritual community in sustaining faith
How small moments can be sacred moments
Each story carried a common thread: even when life feels loud or messy, God meets us when we root ourselves in Him.
Karen Shea: Rooted and Unshakable in the Word
The day continued with a message from guest speaker Karen Shea, who brought a timely word on what it means to be truly rooted in God’s Word. Drawing from Psalm 1 and John 15, Karen reminded us that abiding in Christ is not about striving harder—it’s about surrendering deeper.
Key takeaways from Karen’s message:
“You can’t be rooted in something you rarely return to. ”She emphasized that a consistent relationship with Scripture—not just occasional inspiration—is what strengthens our faith.
Storms are inevitable, but roots hold. Using powerful analogies, Karen illustrated how deep roots developed through daily time in God’s Word prepare us for life’s unexpected trials.
Faith is formed in the quiet. Our spiritual depth doesn’t happen in the spotlight; it grows in the unseen decisions to pray, read, and listen for God’s voice.
Live it, don’t just learn it. Karen closed by challenging us not to be mere consumers of biblical content but to be doers of the Word, reflecting James 1:22.
Karen Shea’s message was rich with biblical truth and Holy Spirit-filled encouragement, resonating deeply with every woman in the room. With a blend of heartfelt wisdom, humor, and raw honesty, sparked joy-filled laughter, and reignited a fresh passion to prioritize God’s Word in their daily lives.
A Community Rooted and Growing
The heart of the Rooted Women’s Weekend wasn’t just great content—it was connection. From meaningful conversations over coffee to the shared worship moments, it was clear: God is growing something beautiful among the women at The Chapel.
Whether you’re new to your faith journey or have been walking with Jesus for decades, the message is the same:
Stay rooted.
Stay connected.
And never underestimate what God can do through a surrendered heart.
