Disrupting the Status Quo

In a world where comfort is king and silence often replaces conviction, The Chapel is sounding a call: It’s time to disrupt the status quo.
This isn’t about chaos—it’s about kingdom clarity. It’s not rebellion—it’s righteous resistance to anything that keeps us from the presence, power, and purpose of God.
In his latest message, Pastor Jeremy Eastman cast a clear and courageous vision: the people of God are not called to blend in. We are called to stand out, not by striving, but by being filled with the Holy Spirit and walking in truth.
🔥 What Does It Mean to Disrupt?
To disrupt means to disturb the normal. To interrupt the cycle. To challenge what’s become comfortable.
All throughout Scripture, God raises up disruptors—Moses before Pharaoh, Esther before the king, Jesus before the temple leaders. These weren’t rule-breakers; they were truth-bringers. They stood when it was easier to sit. They spoke when silence was expected.
“Disruption is how the Kingdom of God has always moved forward.” — Pastor Jeremy Eastman
🕊️ The Power of the Holy Spirit: The Fuel for Change
Disruption without direction is just noise. But disruption with the Holy Spirit at the helm? That’s revival.
At The Chapel, we believe transformation doesn’t come from trends, tactics, or talent. It comes when the people of God are saturated with the presence of God.
Pastor Jeremy reminded us that the early Church didn’t grow because they were trendy—they grew because they were Spirit-filled. And that same power is available today for those who are hungry enough to receive it.
✝️ Jesus Was a Disruptor
In John 2:13–17, we see Jesus enter the temple—and flip tables.
Why? Because sacred space had become self-serving. The temple wasn’t a house of prayer anymore; it was a marketplace of convenience. Jesus didn’t just get angry—He got aligned with heaven’s purpose. His holy disruption wasn’t about spectacle; it was about restoration.
“Do not make My Father’s house a house of trade.” — John 2:16
🙏 Prayer + Praise = Power
Disruptive faith is always anchored in prayer and praise.
These aren’t songs we sing or words we say—they’re postures we take. When we praise, we enthrone God over every circumstance. When we pray, we surrender our will for His.
🚫 Holy Defiance vs. Cultural Conformity
Romans 12:2 says:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Pastor Jeremy unpacked this truth with power: we are not here to reflect culture, we are here to reshape it. Silent Christianity is not biblical Christianity. We must speak with truth, love with compassion, and walk with power.
💡 Salt. Light. Action.
“You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world.” — Matthew 5:13–14
Salt preserves. Light reveals. And both require contact to make a difference.
We can’t preserve what we don’t touch. We can’t illuminate what we don’t step into.
At The Chapel, we believe the local church is God’s Plan A to reach the lost, awaken the sleeping, and shake the dust of religion off the Kingdom of God.
🙌 Your Disruption Might Be Someone’s Deliverance
This message isn’t about being loud for loud’s sake. It’s about being obedient.
There’s a generation waiting to see what bold, Spirit-filled Christianity actually looks like. Your willingness to speak up, step out, and show up could be the thing that helps someone else find Jesus.
“Let this be the season we stop waiting for the culture to change—and start being the change the culture desperately needs.”
So we ask, Chapel family—will you disrupt the status quo? Will you press into the presence of God, push back against spiritual apathy, and walk boldly in the Spirit?
Let revival begin—right here, right now.
